Jaklin Sorrells

What moms go through would probably drive someone crazy. My superpower is the power to multitask. I get things done and my family knows it.

What is the most rewarding part of being a mom?

My 3 year old daughter has autism and nothing comes easy to her. I marvel at how people take so much for granted, like learning shapes or using a spoon. The best part of being a mother, in my opinion, is that every moment is a new adventure. I love seeing my children light up with every new discovery they make. What I love the most about my kids is that they are a purer, more innocent version of myself. They motivate me to be a better person in general, as I try each day to be a good mother.

What is one memory of your kids that you will never forget?

I’m a little angry at myself for not documenting everything. That’s the type of mom I thought I’d be. On the other hand, I am the type of mom who takes her kids to the park, swimming, to the library and to the museum, who bakes muffins and who dances, sings with them and reads them stories. One memory that I will absolutely never forget though is the day each one of them was born and placed into my arms.

What would you do with $20,000?

If I win the first thing I’m going to do is put half of it towards the cost of a home I’d like to buy for us. Since spending time with my children is so important to me I would also like to take my kids on a cruise or trip to Disneyland since I’ve never been on a cruise ship or to Disneyland myself. I believe it would be an awesome opportunity for us to make memories together. If I have anything left I’d like to get some dental work done, if not that’s ok because my children always come first.
