Iman Alyadak

I am a super mom because, despite loss and heartbreak, I show up, love fiercely, and keep going for my children every single day.

What is the most rewarding part of being a mom?

The most rewarding part of being a mom is watching your child grow into their own person seeing the values, love, and lessons you poured into them show up in how they treat the world. It’s those quiet, unexpected moments of connection a hug out of nowhere, a look that says “I get it,” or hearing them say something wise that you know came from your influence. It’s the love that runs so deep, it shifts who you are at the core.

What is one memory of your kids that you will never forget?

One memory I’ll never forget is driving my kids to school when they were young. Those morning car rides were our special time, we’d talk about their day, their dreams, their worries, and the little things that mattered to them. It was such a simple routine, but it gave us a chance to connect in a way that was just ours. I really miss those conversations; they were full of honesty, laughter, and love.

What would you do with $20,000?

If I had $20,000, I would use it to catch up on bills. Ever since Hakeem’s murder, life has been incredibly difficult emotionally, mentally, and financially. Grief doesn’t pause real-life responsibilities, and it’s been a struggle to stay afloat while navigating so much pain. That kind of support would ease a burden I’ve been carrying for a long time.
