What is the most rewarding part of being a mom?

Struggling to rebuild our lives in California, my children stepped up as our family’s backbone. My children became my driving instructors, guiding me through every turn. One day, they said, “Mum, no matter what happens, remember—you have three soldiers who will fight for you for life.” In that moment, I realized my greatest reward wasn’t just raising them—it was seeing their strength, love, and unwavering support leading our family forward.

What is one memory of your kids that you will never forget?

As our divorce remained unresolved, my children—11, 14, and 17—faced a tough choice. “Mum, our hearts are with you, but we must be realistic. If you can’t afford to raise us, we’ve decided: our eldest sister stays with you, while we follow Dad and return after we are financially sound. Tears filled my eyes. I assured them of my love and strength. Beyond finances or status, our bond defines us. No matter the path, I will support them, ensuring love and resilience guide our future.

What would you do with $20,000?

I will use the $15,000 to support my 22-year-old daughter’s final year of university. As a single mother of three in Malaysia, without monthly alimony, I’ve faced many challenges. Despite this, my daughter earned a perfect GPA and dreams of becoming a physician assistant. She’s taking a gap year at UC San Diego to work and fund her tuition. This prize is an investment in her future and our community’s well-being. I’ll also donate the balance to Children’s Miracle Network.
