It’s hard for me to be a self proclaimed super mom. I’m not an Instagram mom. I’m not a vlogging mom or the team mom. Im just a mom. Survive
We would like to thank you for supporting Heather Mcdonald in this year's Super Mom competition. Your participation allows us to aid Children's Miracle Network Hospitals in their commitment to save and improve the lives of as many children as possible.
The most rewarding part of being a mom is seeing my compassion spill over into their hearts. When they can understand and feel for someone so deeply and purely. This is something that isn’t an instant reward for me. But as time goes on - especially on the hard days, when the mom guilt gets me. I start to see these moments of care and compassion that ahould be beyond their years and that’s when I feel like I may be doing something right.
What is one memory of your kids that you will never forget? As a single mom, but still very involved in their father’s life due to a disabling illness he suffers from. We have been unable to make many “significant” memories. They ask me all the time why we can’t go on a plane or why I work so much. But if I had to chose - I’d say when they hit a ball at a baseball game, or run on a touchdown at foot ball, on stage at a dance recital. The pride while looking for my face in the crow and ability to make themselves proud even thru all their life struggle.
What would you do with $20,000?Well - to be honest. I would catch up on bills. I would try to get to a point I don’t have to pay rent late. Find some peace knowing that in all the hardship we have faced I know I am their peace. The funny part about being a mom, our lives, finances and health could be in shambles but just existing- brings them all the peace they need. They don’t understand the stress - nor should they. i would love to feel that peace with them as a mom living in survival mode. Maybe our first vacation also.
