Hattie Hawks

I am not always super. I lose my patience and I apologize frequently. I love them fiercely & teach them about life as we grow together.

What is the most rewarding part of being a mom?

Watching them become more of themselves and being able to encourage them to find what makes them happy and in turn get to be a part of that exciting energy and atmosphere they create with the joy they experience.

What is one memory of your kids that you will never forget?

One memory I’ll never forget is how excited they were to see the dunes in the outer banks. They rolled down the sandy hills and ran like crazy. Being a mom with CPTSD I can be easily triggered - I find when we are traveling and enjoying the outdoors (while it can be stressful) it keeps us connected, learning and enjoying each others company.. bringing us closer together.

What would you do with $20,000?

Time to travel! My son talks about CA constantly and we’re ready to see the Red woods. There is a power in travel and how it contributes to a broader understanding of life. We love to learn and explore. We would visit several cities (San Diego, San Fran, LA etc). *some would also pay outstanding bills
