Its in the giggles during bedtime stories, the proud smile after they achieve something new, and the quiet “I love you” when they think you're not listening. Knowing I'm my daughter's safe place, her teacher, and her biggest cheerleader makes every challenge as a single mom worthwhile. Motherhood for me is love in its purest form.

What is one memory of your kids that you will never forget?

One memory I will never forget is the day my daughter handed me a beautiful handmade card. In it, she wrote that the best part of being her was having a hardworking, loving, and dedicated mother like me. She said when she grows up, she wants to be just like me, and that she's the luckiest girl in the world because she knows she can always be herself — and I’ll love every bit of her. That moment filled my heart with pride and reminded me that love is her greatest strength.

What would you do with $20,000?

I would use it to change lives. First, I’d help an elderly woman in Cali, Colombia, who’s struggled for years since her daughter went missing. She cares for her diabetic son, a brilliant straight-A student, but can’t afford his education or medication. I’d cover those costs to give them hope for a brighter future. With the rest, I’d invest in a home for my daughter and me, to help create a stable foundation.
