I raised my 8 year old alone after escaping her abusive father. Left with nothing, rebuilt our lives from scratch. Now stable and expecting!
We would like to thank you for supporting Fatima Lisa Baba-Gana in this year's Super Mom competition. Your participation allows us to aid Children's Miracle Network Hospitals in their commitment to save and improve the lives of as many children as possible.
Seeing my best qualities emerge in my child. Teaching her and actually witnessing her learn and apply these teachings. Lastly, the pure, genuine and absolutely unconditional love and admiration I get from my child.. nothing compares.
What is one memory of your kids that you will never forget? The very first time she out of the blues, at 4 years old held my face and said “you’re the best mommy, I love you so much” very simple but it was her first major expression like that towards me, spoken so eloquently and it was just profound. The first couple of years had been tough; it showed that her little mind had settled, she was happy and felt safe and content with me. I will never forget how that made me feel.
What would you do with $20,000?Secure our rent for the next 6 months (we have faced two evictions the past couple of years so this would provide a huge sense of security) as well as sign her up for acting and modeling classes (her dream) and finally, purchase a car as we haven’t had one in over a year. My baby girl prays for one daily. With her little sister on the way, this would make our lives so much easier and give me more room to build for our future.
