My mom abandoned me after I was born and my dad at 31 for marrying a Mexican man. Little support, but we’re loving our life!

Knowing that my son will never have to endure or walk through the things I had to brings me such pride and comfort. My journey has had a lot of pain, and being in a position to break generational habits and bring freedom is amazing. Providing an environment where he feels safe, heard, and supported no matter what is what being his mom is all about for me. It’s fulfilling knowing my son can and does trust me to care for him because he knows I’ll always be there for him.
What is one memory of your kids that you will never forget?I will absolutely never forget the moment I saw him for the first time. After a very long 29 hour labor, the epidural didn’t work, had to have a c section, the anesthesia didn’t work, they had to put me to sleep… but I finally got to see him and hold him. It brings tears just thinking about that beautiful silent moment of him gazing at me for the first time. And in that moment my entire life changed, my priorities, even my life dreams changed. He’s my greatest gift.
What would you do with $20,000?My partner and I are trying to save for a down payment on a house so we can have stability for our family and even grow our family! We’ve been renting for a while and are eager to find an area we can call home and settle more. Without the support and help that we really want and need, we are trying to find a home near friends and other community.
