I am a RN, have postpartum depression and despite many moments of suicidal thoughts, I continue to stay alive so my baby girl has a mom
We would like to thank you for supporting Elisabeth in this year's Super Mom competition. Your participation allows us to aid Children's Miracle Network Hospitals in their commitment to save and improve the lives of as many children as possible.
The most rewarding part is waking up every day knowing I can give my girl all the opportunities she deserves. I love seeing what kind of person she is each day she wakes up, and seeing each amazing skill as she learns it. It warms my heart so much when she does a new skill and then looks to me to see me be proud of her. I love that she knows I will always be there for her.
What is one memory of your kids that you will never forget?Typical, but the first time my baby girl cried when I walked away from her I’ll never forget. Realizing that she realized I was her one and only mom really struck me, and helped me to continue fighting my postpartum depression.
What would you do with $20,000?With 20,000 I would of course get some presents for my girl, but then also save for her future. I want her to have all the opportunities in the world. I’d love to take her, and her 3 cousins on a trip together someday. I’d also want to make sure that I really protected her mental health, because I do not want to pass any anxiety, depression, or PPD to her. I want to make sure she has the mental health support and tools to stay confident and strong as a woman in this day and age.
