What is the most rewarding part of being a mom?

Wow, how do I answer this in so few words... It began the moment I knew I had the responsibility to maintain a healthy pregnancy and the first tummy flutters and kicks. I fell in love the day I held each of them in my arms, watched them fall and get back up again. That's where it starts... the falling. The reward is every milestone, every climb back up, every time they are ok again. It's endless, daily and sometimes scary, but awesome...watching their faces as they watch their babies grow.

What is one memory of your kids that you will never forget?

I will never forget the whole act of sacrifice that they made so that I could get my grade 12 and eventually my degree in Education. We had so little and I had so much guilt. Not enough food, not enough sundries, not enough to even feed myself some days. They just kept telling me it's ok, Mommy... it's ok. They helped each other and just kept cheering me on. That was the hardest journey for us. We made it. At my graduation speech, there was not 1 dry eye when I thanked my little heroes.

What would you do with $20,000?

I would use it to put a down-payment on a house that is mine... where I don't have to always worry if my kids bring their pets or my grandkids get color on the walls. I miss having that place that is ours that is always a home to come back to, for my kids and my grandkids to escape. I want a new home base to make all of the holidays special, where we can play in the yard, carve pumpkins, bake cookies or just stay a little longer together and make connections and recreate our safe haven.
