Watching my daughter overcome challenges on the spectrum and seeing my son shine in sports—especially track and field—reminds me daily that every step forward is a victory. Being their biggest supporter, advocate, and safe space makes motherhood the most rewarding role I’ve ever had.
What is one memory of your kids that you will never forget?I’ll never forget the first time my daughter clearly said, “I love you, Mommy.” After years of speech delays, that moment brought tears of joy. I also cherish the pride on my son’s face when he won his first track meet and ran into my arms. Pure magic.
What would you do with $20,000?I’d create a resource space for parents of kids with special needs. I’d support my daughter in building life skills and self-sufficiency, help my son grow his talents and reach his goals, and invest in my own education to better serve families like mine.
