I’m a single mother of two. My goal is to provide a safe, loving and supportive life that my children will not need therapy to recover from.
We would like to thank you for supporting Demetria Powell in this year's Super Mom competition. Your participation allows us to aid Children's Miracle Network Hospitals in their commitment to save and improve the lives of as many children as possible.
I get the opportunity to heal my inner child and grow into the best version of myself. My children are the best parts of me. They are my truest mirrors that teach me to love myself and care for myself the same way that I endlessly pour into others. Motherhood has made me softer and more graceful with myself and others. Being a mom has shown me that my strength is in my vulnerability and it’s okay to fully embrace the divinity of femininity.
What is one memory of your kids that you will never forget? There are so many moments that come to mind because I celebrate the small wins just like the big ones. For example, I hug my children everyday with the same love and enthusiasm as the first time they snuggled into my arms at birth. Feeling adequate as a mother from a successful latch to soothing a stubborn cough. Every aspect of exchanging energy has been rewarding and I’m comforted to have experienced this unbreakable bond.
What would you do with $20,000?I’m very grateful for my two-bedroom home. I’m blessed to have a roof over my head, if I won the $20,000 I’d buy a three-bedroom home so that my son and daughter could have their own room. I always wanted my own room growing up so I’d love to be able to give that to my children one day. I want to make my son’s room a forest theme with reptile terrariums because he’s a reptologist in training. I’d decorate my daughter’s room like a fairytale because she’s a princess in training.
