Having the mom community I have. I am blessed with a group where we lament, rejoice, & jump into action for each other!
We would like to thank you for supporting Dare Goodspeed in this year's Super Mom competition. Your participation allows us to aid Children's Miracle Network Hospitals in their commitment to save and improve the lives of as many children as possible.
The most rewarding part of being a mom is watching my son’s growth every day. Though it’s sad to watch him get bigger, I love watching him learn and take in new things constantly. He is always observing me and his dad, watching us intently to figure out how we do things. Though sometimes I am sure he just thinks we look silly! Each day he gets a little better at each new thing. Whether it’s figuring out how to clap, go backwards off the couch, or being determined to figure out how wheels work!
What is one memory of your kids that you will never forget?I will never forget my dad holding him for the first time. My son is the first grandkid on my side, and right before I gave birth we found out my dad had brain cancer. My son ended up in the NICU, but against all odds he & my dad got to meet one another! He stared so intensely at my dad, and in that moment I knew they would be lifelong buds. Now my son is almost a year and my dad is in remission, and they ARE best buds. It’s the greatest joy to witness.
What would you do with $20,000?Gosh, 20,000 could get me a lot. What I would do with it though would be put it towards a house for our family. My husband is in school, but we know where we are now is our forever home. Our people are here, my son’s godparents are here, his little baby friends are here. It would be wonderful to have a place that’s ours where we can host, I can invite other moms into community, and our son (& future kids) can be themselves fully! It’s something I look forward to very much!
