What is the most rewarding part of being a mom?

Being my child’s safe space is the most rewarding part of being a mother to me. To be able to be the person he runs to in his times of need, the person he wants to tell anything to, and his best friend. Every “mommy come play with me”, “mommy I love you”, “mommy I feel sad” is a result of the work I’ve put in to build the trust, and confidence in himself, for him to come to me freely with whatever he’s feeling. Big and small.

What is one memory of your kids that you will never forget?

Three days ago I was turned down for a job after an amazing interview, being introduced to the staff and showed around the facility. I’ve been on the job hunt for 3 long months & I took it very hard. My son found me crying. He immediately came up to me, gave me a hug, and even though he didn’t know what happened he said “mommy. It’s not your fault.” And I was reminded that I am raising a beautifully compassionate son. I’m doing my most important job the best way that I can. And he recognizes it.

What would you do with $20,000?

After years of abuse, including financial, I’m in my era of rebuilding. Rebuilding my finances, my credit, and myself. With $20,000 I would invest in paying off debts and taking some small HR classes to get myself to a place where I can provide not only for my son, but for myself as well. Specifically in the area of nutrition. Obviously his comes first, and putting myself on the back burner has lead me to being underweight. What I am striving for is wealth in health.
