Connect What is the most rewarding part of being a mom?

Healing. Having trouble loving myself has been a lifelong struggle. However, I have been able to identify and make peace with myself re-established myself in their light. Being able to form stable bonds and create experiences I never had is a gift I would have never been afforded without my children. They healed parts of me I didn’t think could ever be whole.

What is one memory of your kids that you will never forget?

It sounds corny, but we make amazing memories everyday. The best moments are those that happen when we least expect it, the nights we spend watching a show as a family or even doing chores together are some of the best parts of my week. We don’t do many big or extravagant things, but we make the most of every day by laughing and loving to the best of our abilities.

What would you do with $20,000?

Help us for our home. After having to leave my career to support our special needs daughter (she had a traumatic birth, we both nearly lost our lives after a placental abruption) , living off of one income has been very difficult. The money we take in goes to our mortgage, bills, and food. We do not vacation or do many activities — but this would allow us the ability to not only survive, but truly live a little.
