Cidney Browning

I was pushed into motherhood, as a mother to my siblings. In doing so taught me to be selfless and now I do my best to be a mother I needed.

What is the most rewarding part of being a mom?

I have a two year old son. Watching him run up to family and friends with open arms and kisses, shows me that he’s reciprocating the love he feels daily. That even when I’m exhausted, my child still loves me. kisses me when he sees me hurting. Being a mother is such a gentle love that I could never trade. I’ll never stop being a big sister and mother.. not to just my own but any child that needs the love and support because I didn’t have a person like me as a child.

What is one memory of your kids that you will never forget?

The day my child was born was a special and terrifying experience. watching my child be born into this sick world knowing he’s so small and innocent and feeling the weight of motherhood on my chest in that moment. that moment everyone left my bed side to follow him. I knew on that day that being a mom meant more than the trials of a mother but that your child won’t be a child forever. that I have the opportunity and gift to perfect Gods sculpture in helping raise a young child to be a young man.

What would you do with $20,000?

20,000 it’s a lot of money to give away. I would put my money into savings, savings for my own place for my child and I. I am a 22 year old mother of one. and someday I fear I’ll have to take my siblings in and build a safe space for not only my child but for my family. I can’t do that alone. I work at a family owned sub shop since I was 15 and 20000 would help me financially cover bills and necessities for my child and I. living in this world isn’t easy for a single mother.
