Balancing our schedules, nursing school, and the challenges of two boys that are autistic as a single parent is rewarding but challenging.
We would like to thank you for supporting Chelsea Bell in this year's Super Mom competition. Your participation allows us to aid Children's Miracle Network Hospitals in their commitment to save and improve the lives of as many children as possible.
The gentle nightly hug family hug and kiss from my boys followed up with a kiss on the jaw. I love that I get to have time for these small moments. One day, they won’t always ask for a hug and kiss goodnight.
What is one memory of your kids that you will never forget? For me it was yesterday, we were heading into Dunkin for their weekly doughnut. A homeless man had a sign up that said homeless, prayer. I stopped to ask is there anything we could get you or do for you. He stated no just prayer. Mason, 7 years old, got down on his knees on the sidewalk and prayed with the gentleman. In that moment, it was a sign that we are where we need to be in that moment.
What would you do with $20,000?Honestly. I would pay off my vehicle, finish paying off some debt, and pay up my mortgage for the next 6 months, and autism summer camp for the boys. I’d also save a large portion of it to help ease the daily stressors of working while in nursing school full-time. I have weeks where I cannot work because of my course load. It was a decision I chose to make that will benefit us in the near future. I’ll graduate with my ASN of Nursing in December 2025. We’re literally almost there.
