What is the most rewarding part of being a mom?

Watching this little person grow into being their own person with their own personality and dreams. I have loved watching my daughter grow into being the confident girl that she is today. She stands up for herself and for any of her peers who are perceived as different and I feel proud that I have influenced her to always stand up for others who may be marginalized or may not have the voice to stand up for themselves.

What is one memory of your kids that you will never forget?

My daughter was born with something called congenital hemolytic anemia- I had a rare antibody in my blood attacking her system. I will never forget the day when we got the news that she was finally cured. I am grateful for the people who donated blood so my child could live. She is now 12 years old and I am grateful every day for the gift of her health.

What would you do with $20,000?

Honestly I would love to take my family to Universal studios because we could never afford a trip like that otherwise. I would pay off some debt too. After living through the tropical storm Helene, we could use a trip away and a leg up with bills would help take some pressure off. Being out of work for about a month was really hard for our family.
