Connect What is the most rewarding part of being a mom?

The most rewarding part of motherhood is being able to give my children the life that I didn't have growing up. My grandparents raised me. My grandfather battled with lung cancer and passed during my time in college, so my supports felt as if they were dwindling. I didn't have a close relationship with my mother, but we reconnected. This bond with my children is something new. It's a path traveled without a proper map. I, however, am so honored to be on this journey.

What is one memory of your kids that you will never forget?

I will never forget seeing my children for the first time in the operating room. I was in labor for twelve hours and exhausted, but seeing their faces caused my heart to race at the speed of a race car, fighter jet, or even a gun shot because it was exhilarating! I would shelter these two from the fiercest of storms with nothing. I would carrying them through high tides, because they were miracles from heaven. I would be their mother in this life and the next and that echos in my mind even now.

What would you do with $20,000?

The winnings would support us in being able to purchase a house that would have enough room for our big family! It would allow our son and daughter to have a room for their own, in addition to a place to work from home some day. It would mean that all those years in school and working towards my professional counseling license would allow for time returned to my family.
