Leaving an emotionally abusive rlshp taught me it’s worth it to stand up for myself. My girls don’t need a perfect mom they need a happy one
We would like to thank you for supporting Brittany Beneke in this year's Super Mom competition. Your participation allows us to aid Children's Miracle Network Hospitals in their commitment to save and improve the lives of as many children as possible.
Only moms can understand the highs and lows and emotional rollercoasters of raising kids. It’s exhausting but so rewarding. It’s messy and challenging, but their smiles, giggles, little hugs and “I love you Mama” make it worth it and help me through hard days. Watching them grow and develop their own personalities has been the most wonderful part of being a mom!
What is one memory of your kids that you will never forget?Anytime we get together with my family is so cherished. But my favorite memory is when we went to a pumpkin patch with my brother’s family and his little girls. We fed goats, took a hayride, and picked out pumpkins. It was cold and rainy and mostly miserable for us adults, but my girls still talk about it to this day as one of their favorite things.
What would you do with $20,000?I incurred some debt while separated after leaving an emotionally abusive marriage to pay for daycare and living expenses for my girls on my own. So it would greatly help me pay for legal fees and loans. I’m proud to show my girls an example of standing up for myself and I’m grateful for those that have supported me through this journey, and so I would also probably splurge just a little to take a little trip with my family.
