Connect What is the most rewarding part of being a mom?

The most rewarding part is seeing my children grow and putting a smile on their faces regardless of the struggles we have faced. Every time they give me a hug and a kiss, it restores a part of me their father took away. They are the reason I keep fighting everyday to stay alive, for a better life, and to get to the version of myself I know I can be!!!

What is one memory of your kids that you will never forget?

Unfortunately I don’t have memory that I will never forget because they were stolen from me. I have suffered from an unimaginable amount of trauma since the day I found out I was pregnant, and since then I have just been surviving, but I pray that one day soon I will start living, so then maybe I will be able to create a memory that will cherish forever.

What would you do with $20,000?

With the 20,000, I would get myself back in therapy, replenish my medication that I can’t afford, and pay for nursing school. I currently don’t have any insurance because I lost my job due to a lack of childcare, I can’t afford private insurance, and Medicaid keeps denying me. I suffer from depression and anxiety which I take medication for but I currently don’t have any. I attend nursing school but I’m not sure for how much longer because I can’t afford the tuition.
