I am a full time caregiver to a wonderful autistic toddler, to my niece who has Parkes Weber, and to my mother who is on dialysis.
We would like to thank you for supporting Briana bates in this year's Super Mom competition. Your participation allows us to aid Children's Miracle Network Hospitals in their commitment to save and improve the lives of as many children as possible.
Watching my nonverbal autistic child develop the ability to speak through therapies. It shows that all my sacrifice has been worth it. Giving my child the ability to be able to integrate into society and to be more independent. My son is severely autistic so watching him be able to learn to do the things most kids can do naturally is the greatest thing.
What is one memory of your kids that you will never forget?I’ll never forget the first time my son said I want mama. He just recently began to say I want. He’s been in speech therapy since age 2 twice a week. He also has occupational therapy twice a week and he’s in ABA therapy 30 hours a week. I accepted the fact that he’s nonverbal at age 2. So now to see him at age 3 be able to specifically say I want mama I will never forget it. I cry every time I think about my sweet sweet boy. I long for the day he Dan tell me he loves me.
What would you do with $20,000?I would take my son on a trio to LEGOLAND initially. LEGOLAND is an autism center and fantastic for him. He loves aquatic animals and they’re adding sea life to LEGOLAND so I know he would love it. The remaining money would be put aside for his tuition. I intend to enroll him into private school for children with autism when he is ready to begin. I want him to have the best opportunities to have the best life.
