I’ve been taking my son to speech & occupational therapy for about a year and a half now, and the most rewarding part of being a mother so far is not only have my baby start to say words and small phrases, but to hear him finally say “I love you” after almost 4 years! It just shows that all the time spent at therapy, seeing his Early Interventionist, and school (early intervention special education) are worth it. He’s working just as hard as I am and doing so well!

Besides the first time he said “I love you”, it would have to be the day he was born. It was a tough labor that resulted in an emergency C-Section because his heart rate kept dropping, turns out his cord was wrapped around his neck. He was blue when he came out and didn’t cry for a good 45-60 seconds. I didn’t realize I was holding my breath until I heard him cry, then I exhaled so hard and started crying myself. I finally had my baby boy!

No question I would put a down payment on a home! We’ve been living in apartments since moving to South Carolina and I would love to give my sweet boy backyard to play in. He loves being outside more than anything—well, besides bubbles and swimming! My biggest goal right now is to get my baby a home with a big back yard, a trampoline, swing set, and a little pool for summer.
