We would like to thank you for supporting Ashanti Borders in this year's Super Mom competition. Your participation allows us to aid Children's Miracle Network Hospitals in their commitment to save and improve the lives of as many children as possible.

What is the most rewarding part of being a mom?

Seeing them learn and grow. Watching them build friendships with new people and take the higher road when confronted with injustice. My children are making the world a better place one stranger at a time.

What is one memory of your kids that you will never forget?

I was having a rough day with migraine and cramps, I asked my daughter to help keep the little kids corralled so I could lay on the couch and let the Midol work it’s magic. She said ok, asked for the remote to find a show. I look away, and when I look at the tv, I see she’s spelled out “cwyit” and that my then 5 year old was searching the tv for a quiet show for her and her siblings.

What would you do with $20,000?

I would donate a portion to women’s rights. I’d also buy my daughter a house, create a place with more room for her to be creative and spend time with her foster siblings. We are comfortable as a family of 7 in our 3 bedroom home but I would give them all room to grow.
