What is the most rewarding part of being a mom?

The cuddles and snuggles, the warmth of her hugs when I’m down—she’s my biggest supporter, and I’m hers. Watching her grow into the smartest, kindest, and most caring person she can be is so rewarding. And her little quips make it even sweeter: When I say she’s being bossy, she proudly replies, “I’m not bossy, I’m beautiful.” And when I tell her to clean up her mess, she grins and says, “It’s not a mess, it’s a party.

What is one memory of your kids that you will never forget?

One Valentine’s Day, my daughter was convinced Tinkerbell was delivering her gifts. I forgot to buy glitter, so I mixed sugar with nutritional yeast and sprinkled it on her gifts to make it look like pixie dust. When she came running to find her presents, she saw the “dust,” picked it up, and sprinkled it on our heads, looking confused. “Why aren’t we flying?” she asked, totally serious. It was one of those sweet moments where her imagination just made everything feel magical.

What would you do with $20,000?

I’d use part of the $20,000 to pay off debt and start building a savings. That financial relief would help me be a more present mom. After putting so much into my small business, I’d use the rest for a magical vacation with my partner and daughter. First stop: a beach in Florida to escape the PNW cold, then Disney World to make my daughter’s dream of meeting her favorite princesses come true.
