Watching my children grow into who they are meant to be, knowing my love, guidance, and sacrifices are helping shape their strength, kindness, and resilience is by far the greatest reward for me. It’s also in the moments when we make positive behavioral progress; little moments like: the hugs, the smiles, the whispers of “I love you.” The trust they place in me every single day cannot be quantified. It’s the joy of being someone’s safe place, their greatest advocate and cheerleader.

There are so many beautiful memories with my kids in the past - their first words, first steps, and recently, my 6-year-old on the spectrum saying, “Mommy, I want to go to the bathroom,” and going on his own. We celebrated that moment like a milestone we once thought was no close to achieving. Our first family picnic at the Lincoln Memorial was also unforgettable. We played tag, ate ice cream, human horseback ride and shared pure laughter.

Giving back is deeply important to me and my family. While part of this prize will go toward my children’s college funds, a new car, and a small family vacation, I plan to gift two hardworking nurses a fully paid day of relaxation, donate to a motherless babies’ home of my choice, and fulfill a dream of traveling internationally with my sweet hardworking mother because she is deserving of a break. Also, creating memories and helping others brings me true joy.
