From the worst tragedy of my life came the most rewarding journey of navigating single motherhood, and the journey isn’t over yet!
We would like to thank you for supporting Amber Sidoti in this year's Super Mom competition. Your participation allows us to aid Children's Miracle Network Hospitals in their commitment to save and improve the lives of as many children as possible.
Being a mom means there’s hope for better. The ability to be involved in the development of my children and seeing them recognize who they are as individuals has been a daily inspiration for me. I get to watch as they develop their goals and aspirations for where they are going in life and who they want to be, let alone being a part of making it happen for them, is the highest reward for me as a mother.
What is one memory of your kids that you will never forget? The first day I came home from the hospital with my son will always shine bright in my memories. My daughter was 3 years old and over the moon about having her brother be home. I was scared, and alone, caring for two children only have given birth days prior and my daughter, the gentle, loving soul that she is (as still continues to be) brought over snacks and drinks and toys for her, her brother and I as we sat on the couch together and cuddled, enjoying just being with each other.
What would you do with $20,000?I work 3 jobs, am finishing my PMBA at Quinnipiac and working on my ABA certificate at the University of Hartford just to help our family situation and grow in my career. I do all this to also be a role model for my children to show life is what you make of it, and I will make it the best I can for the ones I love, my kids. I’d split the money for the children to have as a start for their safety net as they grow into adulthood. They’ll have a starting point for their futures.
