Amber Ansari

My baby hates sleeping and will stay up all hours of the night, so I give myself props for being able to function at all.

What is the most rewarding part of being a mom?

Being a mom made me grow up. I was in a really tough situation and I wasn’t doing well for myself, then I got pregnant and it put it in perspective for me. I changed my ways for my child. I never want my child to see me in such a way that it affects their lives in a negatively. I think that is the most rewarding. My child changed me for the better.

What is one memory of your kids that you will never forget?

My son is 5 months. So when I had him I had a very tough delivery, which caused my son to get stuck in my pelvis and because of this my son was diagnosed with Erb’s Palsy. His right arm doesn’t function as well as his left which causes him to hit his milestones more slowly. One memory I’ll always cherish is when he rolled over by himself. That was such an amazing feeling seeing him independent and doing this on his own.

What would you do with $20,000?

Honestly, I would love to make a college fund for my son. It’s tough out there and I want him to be set up for his future.
