What is the most rewarding part of being a mom?

My son struggles with communication and behavioral issues since he is nonverbal, the most rewarding part of being his mom is when he mimics the things he sees on tv like trying to repeat songs and mimicking things I say to him daily. It makes me happy to know he’s learning.

What is one memory of your kids that you will never forget?

His first time speaking. He had just turned four, I felt like I didn’t do enough for him because he didn’t show interest in the toys I bought him. I struggle with PTSD and mental health issues, and I had been feeling like I was struggling with being his mom. He came into my room while I was crying and patted my shoulder, repeatedly saying in the most Elmoish voice, “Come on! We did it!”

What would you do with $20,000?

Invest in our first home so he can have a backyard and the freedom to run wild while using anything left to invest in the things insurance doesn’t cover for him. He’ll have the stability of a forever home and no more interruptions to his routine.
