As a single Mom for 7 years now…I have strived to raise and teach my son (12) to be a kind, compassionate, respectful, loving gentleman.
We would like to thank you for supporting Alyssa Blackburn in this year's Super Mom competition. Your participation allows us to aid Children's Miracle Network Hospitals in their commitment to save and improve the lives of as many children as possible.
Being a Mom is, by far, the greatest gift I’ve ever been given. Being able to give and show unconditional love…to be given the responsibility and honor of raising a precious being… to be able to show the goodness of God…well…that’s completely priceless. The reward is watching my son live, laugh and love and shine his light on everyone he meets.
What is one memory of your kids that you will never forget? There’s so many… but I do have a couple very fond memories to share… My son is an incredible athlete, especially with baseball…. He was never really into “planes, trains and automobiles”… but something happened when I handed that boy a baseball when he was just 18 months old. He threw that ball in a perfectly straight line across the room…right at his dad’s chest. As a toddler, he said Jesus played catch with him. I believe whole-heartedly in this gift from God.
What would you do with $20,000?I would pay off my debt that has been burdening me so much as a single mom. It would allow me to be able to enjoy these special, prime school years so much more. It would mean the world to be able to create memories with him. I want him to look back and see how much I tried to provide and give him a wonderful childhood.
