I am raising two children, one with special needs, as a single mother. Work full-time, and graduating with my Bachelors degree this Fall.
We would like to thank you for supporting Alexus Geddes in this year's Super Mom competition. Your participation allows us to aid Children's Miracle Network Hospitals in their commitment to save and improve the lives of as many children as possible.
I enjoy watching my son and daughter grow, play, laugh, and learn. Overall, watching them enjoy their childhood in ways I could not as a child. Especially my daughter because she has autism. She rides horses for PT and swim. She receives OT services, and ABA. Watching her master skills and goals really makes me rejoice. Her determination is inspiring. My kids, including our new dog, are my blessings and reasons for everything. They inspire me to continue to be the best version of me.
What is one memory of your kids that you will never forget?Due to my daughter having a life-threatening illness, she was granted a wish by the Make-A-Wish foundation to fulfill a dream. My daughter is a adrenaline junky. Therefore, our family got to spend a week in Orlando, FL visiting Disney World (All Parks), Universal Studios, and Legoland. That was our first trip as a family, and the experience was amazing and really a dream. We stayed at a place called Give kids the World Village, and the staff were beyond amazing. Unforgettable experience!
What would you do with $20,000?I would put it into a savings account to help with our monthly expenditures. I would be afraid to put it all into one expense because life is unpredictable. One month things are fine, and the next month the car or house wants to fall apart. We need our car and home. It would be nice having money in a savings account that I can rely on for unexpected times and expenses. It has been difficult saving because we live paycheck to paycheck. And I get no government assistance.
