Connect What is the most rewarding part of being a mom?

I love watching my boys grow and learn new things every single day. And I love that I’m their safe space. At 3, 4, and 8, they still rely on me a lot, but they’re slowly becoming more independent, which I’m proud of. I love that they know I will always be here for them, and I love watching their kindness and love towards each other as well. I’m immensely proud of the people they are already, and I am honored I get to watch them grow up. Every day, I am grateful and in awe that I have my boys.

What is one memory of your kids that you will never forget?

The memories that feel small and mundane to many, are the most memorable to me. It took me years, a lot of loss, and more to have my boys. For a long time I didn’t think I would ever have more than one child. So it’s incredibly special to watch them play together, sit on the couch, snuggle with them, or rock them to sleep. I love the feeling of when they run across the room for a BIG hug, or their faces light up as they show me a new skill they learned. Those are the memories I’ll never forget.

What would you do with $20,000?

Childcare costs are expensive. It would help with that immensely. My husband leaves for work before they’re up on weekdays, and he’s home around bedtime. I’m with them 24/7 and I don’t have reliable family members to help for free, so I have my younger two in part time childcare so I can continue to grow my own business and do the work I also love. I think it’s important to have a balance between motherhood and pursuing the work and passions I have outside of being a mom. This would help a lot!
