Alanna Sheridan

I broke generational chains that have bound women in my family line. We could not enjoy our children in peace. I broke the pattern.

What is the most rewarding part of being a mom?

Having the blessing of being a present mom and being able to fully soak in my daughter's precious moments. When she looks at me looking for acknowledgement or to share a smile or thought with me, I love being able to be there for her in one of the deepest ways for the big and the small. And that I am able to share that joy or connection with her when she's looking for it. I'm so happy she gets to have a mom that wants to be there in every moment with her because that's what she deserves!

What is one memory of your kids that you will never forget?

Her dad was struggling with addiction and I was struggling trying to raise her in an unstable household. I was burnt out and she missed her dad. We needed some TLC. My brother paid for us to go to Sardinia to visit him. A few days after we got there we went to the beach (her first time) and she laid back, put her arms behind her head and smiled at me. Seeing her so happy and relaxed gave me the strength and determination to carry on and start to give us the life we deserve without him.
