What is the most rewarding part of being a mom?

Being a mom is pure joy. The most rewarding part of being a mom is being able to nurture a confident, strong, and kind man. Watching my son take in the world and all its glory is the best feeling. No matter how hard the days and nights may be, seeing my son laugh and smile makes it all worth it.

What is one memory of your kids that you will never forget?

My son is 2-years old and we have so many fun memories. My favorite memory is when he was born. I had to have a c-section so I didn’t see him when he came out. All I remember is the doctor saying “man look at those hands”. He had the hands of a three year old.

What would you do with $20,000?

After having my son I experienced severe postpartum depression and anxiety. I realized there wasn’t a lot of support for working moms experiencing symptoms from postpartum. As a result, I started a vlog and podcast titled DrProfessorMom where I discuss my experiences as an engineering professor, military spouse, and mom. I would use the money to host in-person programs to help build community amongst working moms. These events would include mother scholar retreats, workshops and conferences.
