We would like to thank you for supporting Abigail Velasquez in this year's Super Mom competition. Your participation allows us to aid Children's Miracle Network Hospitals in their commitment to save and improve the lives of as many children as possible.

What is the most rewarding part of being a mom?

After a long workday, while cooking dinner for my kids, the overwhelming rush of the the thought of homework, bills, house chores piling up, kids crying and yelling, "MOM!" My daughter(the oldest) comes to wipe my tears and tells me, "Don't cry mommy. You will be okay," I know I'm raising them right. I know I will be okay if I just keep going I can see the light at the end of the tunnel.

What is one memory of your kids that you will never forget?

This one beach day in June. It was the first time I ever took the kids to the beach after separating from their dad. I sat and watched them play without a care in the world. We stayed until sundown watched the beautiful sunset on the ocean. It was the first time I told myself that I can do it. I can raise them all by myself. I am a strong, independent young mom. I am capable of anything if I keep taking one day at a time. My kids willsee, most importantly my daughter, that anything is possible.

What would you do with $20,000?

I am currently in the process of getting approved (fingers crossed) with Affordable Homes of South Texas. With this money, I would be able to furnish my future house, get my kids their own beds, and breathe knowing this is a start of a new life.
