Connect What is the most rewarding part of being a mom?

For me, the most rewarding part of being a mom is the unconditional love I receive from my son and knowing I am his safe space and source of comfort. I also find fulfillment in watching him grow and develop. I love that despite raising him alone in a single-parent household with no co-parent, he is a happy and confident kid who has no trouble making friends and does the right thing even when no one is watching. I've worked very hard to create a safe and nurturing environment.

What is one memory of your kids that you will never forget?

I'll never forget hearing my son speak his first words and watching him take his first steps.

What would you do with $20,000?

I would use the $20,000 as a down payment on a house for my son and I. We are currently renting an apartment, so I long to give him a house with a yard for him and a dog to play in (our dog died last year and he's been asking for another one, to which I always respond, "when we get a house with a yard). More importantly, though, I want my son to grow up in a house that he can later inherit. So, this house wouldn't just be our home, but an investment towards leaving a legacy for my son.
