I'm a NICU Mom raising a child with Chronic Kidney Disease Stage 5 + Autism Level 3. I'm also a Pandemic Mom of 2 under 2 years apart.
We would like to thank you for supporting Tanisha Wormley in this year's competition. Your participation made a huge impact for Children’s Miracle Network® and their mission to provide life-saving care and improve the health of children across the country.
The most rewarding part of being a mom is seeing my Autistic son find his voice through AAC (communication device), and still remain healthy with his kidney transplant. I'm also blessed to witness my daughter and youngest son overcome social anxiety by expressing their needs and desires through school and extracurricular activities! I am the first Biggest fan to witness their independence!
What is the biggest lesson motherhood has taught you? There is no one book that can teach you how to become a mom. It is truly you exploring the world all over again with your child and loving them for who they are genuinely without thinking about the world's expectations.
What would you do with $20,000?I would continue to publish NICU children's books to encourage NICU families with my brand Medical Moms of NICU! I also would relaunch Medical Moms of NICU podcast to share resources that can help NICU families navigate the medical system. In May, I would host Medical Mom Brunch's yearly that would eventually help to coordinate respite care giveaways for the holidays for special needs moms. Lastly, I would invest in becoming a Child Life Specialist to help special needs families.
