Girl mom, hockey mom & small business owner. Juggling it all while my husband works/serves out of town 2+ weeks a month.
We would like to thank you for supporting Jessica Sparks in this year's competition. Your participation made a huge impact for Children’s Miracle Network® and their mission to provide life-saving care and improve the health of children across the country.
Watching my girls grow up inside of something I have worked hard to build, not just in our home but in life. They get to watch first hand what working hard for something you care about looks like. They get to watch me build relationships and treat people well. They get to watch me be strong, independent all while caring deeply for them. The true reward is; I have the opportunity to be able to say yes to their aspirations, make it work & am able to be present for it all, even if it’s a struggle.
What is the biggest lesson motherhood has taught you?Just because I can carry it all doesn't mean it's sustainable or fair to me. With the inconsistencies in my husbands schedule I do experience burn out and I have worked on recognizing when I need a break or help. I hate asking for help, but have realized my kids do not need a perfect, always available mom- they need a whole, supported, emotionally stable version of myself. That can't be achieved without taking time to myself or asking for help. Sometimes pride has to take a timeout.
What would you do with $20,000?I would buy back some of my time. Hire a cleaner at home and at my studio. Hire snow removal/landscaping. I currently handle most of the snow removal and do all of the cleaning at both work/home. This would allow more free time to be with my kids and less on my already very full plate. I would like to expand my business marketing and reach more women who need Areola Restoration after Breast Cancer. I would like to set aside money for a spa day for myself and put the rest in savings for my girls.
